Amazon's Holiday Fees Hit October 15. The Cheap Window Closes Sooner.

Amazon announced its 2026 holiday fulfillment fees in July, and if you sell on FBA, the operative dates are now weeks away, not months.

The holiday peak fulfillment fee runs October 15, 2026 through January 14, 2027. It averages $0.32 per unit over standard rates, the same average as last year. It applies across Fulfillment by Amazon, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment, and Buy with Prime.

Flat sounds like good news until you remember the stack. Amazon's separate 3.5 percent fuel and logistics surcharge stays in effect on top of the peak fee. A small standard item goes from $2.49 to $2.68 in the peak window before the surcharge. An extra large item in the 50 to 70 pound band goes from $48.57 to $51.38.

The part sellers miss

Amazon told sellers plainly: inventory needs to be in its facilities by October to guarantee Prime badge speeds for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And it warned that capacity limits tighten in November and December as fulfillment centers prioritize outbound customer orders over receiving.

Translation: late inventory does not just risk fees. It risks not getting received at all while your listings show three-week delivery in the middle of Cyber Week.

What this means for your brand

The move that separates professional FBA operations from hopeful ones is a two-warehouse posture going into Q4:

  • Send Amazon a conservative allocation, enough to hold the Prime badge through your expected Black Friday velocity.
  • Hold reserve inventory outside Amazon, where storage is cheaper in Q4 and nothing expires into long-term storage fees.
  • Replenish FBA in small, fast waves as sales data comes in, instead of betting the whole season on one October guess.

That posture needs a partner who does FBA prep correctly: inspection, FNSKU labeling, poly bagging, carton compliance, and shipment coordination into Amazon's network on your schedule. It also pairs naturally with ecommerce fulfillment for your own site's orders, so a stockout on Amazon never means a stockout everywhere.

From our warehouse in central Ohio, replenishment shipments reach Amazon's Midwest and East Coast fulfillment centers fast, which is exactly what small-wave restocking needs. Ask us about a pre-peak FBA plan while there is still calendar left to run one.

FAQ

Should I send all my holiday inventory to Amazon now?

No. Send the allocation you are confident sells through November, and hold the rest where you control it. Amazon storage in Q4 is expensive and capacity-limited, and overstock trapped there in January costs you twice.

Do the peak fees apply to Multi-Channel Fulfillment orders too?

Yes. Amazon applies holiday peak fulfillment fees across FBA, Remote Fulfillment, Multi-Channel Fulfillment, and Buy with Prime, so orders your other channels route through Amazon carry the fee as well.
